You screw the GPS ball in to the upper triple clamp. The screw is 60mm long with a M8 thread. Then you can mount much different GPS Mounts to it for example RAM-Mounts or the mounts which we offer under Extra GPS Mount.

Excellent item and much more flexible than the BMW mount (you can position the SatNav away from the centre of the dials to reveal gear selector).
