With the R18, BMW Motorrad is entering new terrain concerning the cruiser area of the US market and yet the traditional brand has refocused on the design characteristics of its own history. The "Big Boxer", which has a volume of 1802 cubic centimeters, was especially developed for this new motorcycle. However, it continues the legacy of the air-cooled boxer engines. The heart of the BMW R18 impresses with its peak output of 67 kW (91 hp) at 4750 rotations and particularly with 150 Nm of torque being continuously available over the whole speed range of 2.000 to 4.000 rpm.
