The experimental vehicle BMW eRR

2015-11-16 - Super-sport dynamism combined with zero emission

With its experimental vehicle eRR BMW Motorrad presents its idea of what a super-sport motorcycle, which is purely electrically powered, could look like. The development of this promising concept was made in cooperation with the Technical University of Munich. BMW has already successfully extended its research and development with regard to the electric mobility of cars (BMW i3 and i8) and scooters (BMW C evolution) within the last few years. Now the company also intensifies its efforts in the motorcycle field and transfers the concept of the electric engine to the segment of super-sport motorcycles. In terms of design and chassis technology the eRR is very similar to BMW’s super-sport motorcycle S1000RR. However, the eRR is powered only by electricity. The announcement of technical details by BMW Motorrad will be made at a later time.
