BMW S1000XR (2020) conversion by Hornig

2021-02-18 - A plus in comfort and protection with a personal touch

BMW S1000XR (2020) conversion by Hornig

With the S1000XR (2020), BMW Motorrad is introducing a model that is primarily designed to establish a connection between sporty touch and long-distance suitability. We have set ourselves the goal of increasing the potential of the sporty S1000XR here in particular. In addition, safety aspects and the personal touch come into focus with this conversion.

Comfort:
The existing windshield was replaced by our smoke-grey touring screen. This windshield deflects the wind pressure over the rider, making riding more comfortable. The wind protection is completed, both visually and functionally, by the air deflectors which are also smoke-grey. In terms of seating comfort, the original seat of the S1000XR has been replaced by our reupholstered version. Of course, the goal of improving touring suitability cannot be achieved without a correspondingly good visibility of the navigation device: For this reason, our GPS mount is fitted to the BMW S1000XR 2020 above the instruments to ensure that the digital route planner is always placed perfectly in the field of view. It is often underestimated, yet it is often almost worth its weight in gold, especially on tour: the handlebar bag is a faithful companion, especially when it comes to having small items quickly to hand.

Safety and protection:
In order to effectively counteract contamination of the engine oil or theft of the oil filler plug, we have installed an oil filler cap that can only be removed with a Torx T45. The side stand foot enlargement ensures that the motorcycle stands securely on all surfaces. While the rear swingarm crash protectors and the fork crash protectors specifically shield these components, the crash bars are indispensable for the engine and the fairing in the event of unexpected fall-downs. The shift lever extension guarantees a safe step thanks to its larger contact area as well as the brake pedal enlargement, which convinces with its slotted surface even in wet conditions. The fender extender secures that stone chips or dirt are a thing of the past. For special protection of the oil cooler, we have installed our cooler screen. The installation of our mirror extensions allows the rider of the S1000XR an unrestricted view to the rear.

Individual appearance:
On the one hand, the tank pad in carbon look protects the tank area facing the driver from unsightly scratches, on the other gives a touch of refined elegance to the tank. In any case, the centre cap top yoke with emblem will also be positively noticed. In addition, the stainless steel end weights never fail to have a strong impact. The grey LED fairing turning signals radiate individuality and the stainless steel licence plate bracket promises flexibility, as its width can be adjusted flexibly. Finally, the rim stripes and the decor strips provide the particular personal touch.
