BMW R45 scrambler conversion by Hornig - TÜV approved and without frills

After our successful R1100R and R1100GS scrambler conversions of the last years, we again started a scrambler project this year. We decided that this time a BMW R45 (model year 08/1979, 69.000 km, 1.700 EUR) should be transformed into a scrambler. Again, the aim of the conversion was to get a TÜV approval for the motorcycle and nevertheless leave as many unnecessary pieces as possible. Touring windshield for BMW S 1000 XR

For long distance rides PUIG introduces the Touring series to minimize the windblast against the rider. These screens raise the windblast for several centimeters, allowing the rider to keep a more comfortable position riding the motorcycle. A shaded part on the lower section of the screen covers the cables behind the speedometer.
10.5 cm higher than the original windscreen.
