• “V-shape” / inverted V-profile: This special contour ensures that the airflow and resulting vortices (e.g., Kármán vortices) are directed away from the helmet area. This creates a calmer zone behind the screen.
• Material – Lexan® polycarbonate with Quantum™ or FMR hardcoating: very robust material, offering much better protection against scratches, cracks, and breakage compared to classic acrylic (e.g., 10 to 30 times better abrasion resistance, significantly higher impact resistance).
• Material thickness: typically 4.5 to 6.0 mm on ZTechnik/VStream screens. Depending on the version (Touring, Sport, Compact), height and shape vary, but the material thickness ensures stability and durability.
• Optical clarity and coating: Quantum™ coating or FMR hardcoat protects not only against scratches but also against UV influence, maintaining clear visibility even after long use.
• Noise and comfort improvement: Thanks to the features mentioned above, a “quieter air pocket” is created behind the screen for the rider, reducing wind noise, turbulence, and vibrations.
