Short Paralever strut for BMW R850R, R1100R, R1150R & Rockster

This paralever (length 365mm) strut is made of high-quality steel and 20mm shorter than the original one. Thus, you can shorten the wheel base which improves the handling of your bike eminently. The rear end of the bike will be a little higher than before. This can possibly have a negative effect on a secure footing on the main stand (both wheels may be on the ground).

Questions about this article

Can I swap the strut one for one? Or do I have to change something on the shock absorber or stand?
Our parale strut will be exchanged for the original strut. No changes to the shock absorber or stand are necessary.

Is there a homolgation (ABE) / approval included?
Yes, the Parale strut (365mm long) is approved for the R850R, R1100R, R1150R & Rockster.
No homolgation or ABE is required for this, as this part is original BMW and is also originally installed in e.g. the R1100S.
Please check the length of your Paralever brace BEFORE ordering (not that you have already installed the short version!).

The handling is much better now. Also suspension take more, better for holes in the road, speed bumps, .... Very good modification. You need just a higher side stand (GS for example). But i choose for the side stand foot enlargement on this site. You can always ad one more (two in total).

This is the best part I have put on my R850R to date. It improves the handling and raises the bike enough to keep from bottoming the oil pan on big bumps. Now the suspension takes all the travel. The drive shaft u-joint is now almost straight compared with stock. The bike now has a stance similar to a GS. Highly Recommended part. Shipping to USA was less than one week, Thanks!!

Very effective mod, makes the bike feel lighter and steerig is improved. The alignment of the transmission is staright, less stress on it. The hight is also raised a bit, the stands might need adding pads ? (5 mm maybe) An original BMW part= quality ! discrete on the looks, just what I wanted, very happy with this item.
